The newly updated Stimpmeter is a simple, accurate device manufactured by the USGA to determine the speed of a putting green. It does so by measuring ball roll distance. The Stimpmeter is an extruded aluminum bar, 36 inches long, with a V-shaped groove and precisely milled ball-release notch on each side of the bar. It is manufactured under tightly-controlled conditions by an ISO9001-certified manufacturer. Each one is carefully tested and given a unique serial number by the USGA Equipment Standards Department. Stimpmeters are laser-engraved with the USGA seal, feature a 36-inch ruled scale on the side to conveniently measure ball roll distance, and come in a distinctive USGA blue finish.
